EAF House Dust Monitoring Benefits
Working environment improvement and broken bag detection
Working environment improvement and broken bag detection
Introduction
Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) operations generate large volumes of dust containing fine and fluctuating particulate matter. Dust concentrations vary significantly depending on furnace conditions, scrap materials, and operational changes, making accurate monitoring challenging.
In addition, deterioration or failure of bag filters can lead to unexpected dust leakage, which is often difficult to detect through periodic inspections alone. Fine particles such as PM2.5 further increase the difficulty of detection while posing risks to worker health and environmental compliance.
These challenges highlight the need for continuous, real-time dust monitoring to ensure stable operation and early detection of abnormalities in EAF house environments.

Worried about the dust collecting performance at the site.

Sudden dust leakage may happen due to deterioration of filter bag or facilities.

Heavy workload for inspection work and cleaning work after dust leakage.
Solution
PFM Series Dust Monitor is optimized for dust collector performance monitoring.

Dust monitoring instrument continuously measuring suspended dust or particulate matters in the work space.

Achieved by the technology

This continuous monitoring solution enables on-site countermeasures to be taken before an increase in dust concentration leads to material loss.

Continuous measurement synchronized with backwash pulse timing enables predictive maintenance to prevent dust leakage.

By controlling the dust collector in accordance with on-site dust generation levels, energy savings can be realized.
