Summary

Vibrating Level Switch is a point-level detection sensor that detects the presence or absence of material by monitoring the damping of the vibrating probe. When the material reaches the vibrating probe and the vibration is reduced, it provides ON/OFF level detection signal for powders, granules and some liquids.

Operating Principle

Vibrating probe level switch uses a piezoelectric drive to oscillate a probe at its natural resonant frequency.

When the probe is in free air, it vibrates with a defined amplitude.

Once the probe is covered by material, the vibration becomes damped due to the mechanical load of the medium, causing a measurable decrease in frequency and amplitude.

The electronics continuously monitor these changes and convert the damping condition into a switching signal.

This principle enables reliable level detection independent of density, dielectric constant or conductivity.
