Drum type limit switch is a mechanically actuated position detector designed to detect travel limits and intermediate positions of moving equipment such as cranes, unloaders, stacker-reclaimers, moving trippers, rotating chutes, etc. It uses a rotating cam drum driven by a shaft and those adjustable cams mounted on the drum actuate internal microswitches at preset positions.
Adjustable cams allow precise and repeatable detection of multiple limit and intermediate positions with a single device.
One unit replaces multiple limit switches, simplifying wiring and setup while minimizing maintenance requirements.
The robust mechanical structure ensures stable operation under heavy-duty industrial conditions and long service life in the harsh environments.

Large built-in cams (dia. 110mm as standard) allow easy and precise adjustment.

Drum type limit switch operates by converting mechanical motion into electrical switching signals through a rotating cam mechanism.
The rotating shaft turns a cam drum installed inside the housing.
Adjustable cams mounted on the drum rotate together with the drum and mechanically actuate internal microswitches at preset angular positions.
As the cam contacts the actuator of each microswitch, the switch changes state, generating limit or position signals corresponding to the travel of the connected equipment.
By adjusting the cam positions on the drum, multiple limit points and intermediate positions can be set accurately within a single unit.
