Summary

Displacer Level Switch detects liquid level based on the change in buoyant force acting on a suspended displacer. When the liquid level rises or falls, the buoyancy changes proportionally, causing a mechanical force variation that is transmitted to an internal switch mechanism. This enables reliable level detection independent of electrical properties such as conductivity or dielectric constant, making it suitable for high-temperature, high-pressure, and demanding industrial applications.

Benefits

Reliable under harsh conditions

Mechanical buoyancy-based operation with stainless steel made structure ensures stable switching even at high temperature and high pressure, and in corrosive or demanding process environments.

Detection independent of liquid properties

Mechanical detection based on buoyancy ensures stable switching unaffected by liquid conductivity, dielectric constant or composition.

Simple and robust design

Simple and robust mechanical construction reduces failure risks and maintenance requirements, lowering lifecycle costs.

Displacer Level Switch

Features

Insensitive to Adhesion

Displacer Level Switch Features

Stable detection with adhesive material.

Unaffected by buildup unless buildup weight exceeds the float weight.

Easy Setting

Displacer Level Switch Features

Float positions (detection points) are freely set at any point on the wire-rope by a screwdriver.

Stable even with waves

Displacer Level Switch Features

Hardly affected by liquid surface waves or flow conditions because of the construction which integrates the self-holding circuit added to relay contacts and the balancing weight at the bottom of wire-rope.

Operating Principle

Displacer Level Switch operates on the principle of buoyancy.

A displacer suspended by a wire-rope is immersed in the process liquid, and changes in liquid level cause a corresponding change in buoyant force acting on the displacer.

This force variation is mechanically transmitted to a spring with magnet mechanism, which actuates internal reed switches to detect liquid level.
