Speed Relay

Speed Relay is a safety sensor to monitor the operating speed of belt conveyors or cranes and detect under-speed or overspeed without power supply. When the detected speed deviates from the preset safe range, it outputs an alarm or shutdown signal for ensuring safe operation.

Possible to prevent fire accident and blocking chute situation caused by conveyor belt slippage. Alao applicable to over-speed detection of rotating element of cranes or elevators to prevent accidents.

Possible to detect conveyor belt breakage immediately when it happens to minimize the loss caused by the material spillage.

No adjustment at the site required because the switching point (tripping speed) is preset at the factory before shipment.

Rotation transmitted to the relay shaft rotates a permanent magnet, generating rotor torque proportional to speed.

This torque actuates a micro switch via a lever mechanism balanced by a return spring.

When speed decreases due to slip, the spring force overcomes the rotor torque and releases the switch for under-speed detection.

Overspeed detection operates on the reverse principle by spring adjustment.
