Summary

Motor-operated Adjusting Carrier is a safety device designed to automatically correct conveyor belt misalignment during operation. By actively adjusting the belt's tracking position in real time, it maintains stable belt movement within safety range, reduces downtime and prevents damage caused by conveyor belt edge contact. This system enables reliable, continuous alignment control without interrupting production.

Benefits

Continuous Operation

Continuous operation is expected even on such belt conveyors generating belt drifts or misalignment.

Cost Savings

Possible to reduce unnecessary costs due to material spillage, belt damage, facility damage, downtime, etc.

Workload Reduction

Possible to reduce workload (maintenance work, repair work, etc. caused by belt drifts problem) because continuous operation is expected.

Motor-operated Adjusting Carrier Installation

Features

Strong Adjusting Force

Motor-operated Adjusting Carrier

Better adjusting force than mechanical self-aligning carrier because of the motor-operated construction. Effective for difficult conveyors where the mechanical carrier does not work well.

Mounting Variations

Motor-operated Adjusting Carrier

Return side mounting system is available as well as carrier side mounting.

Effective mounting position may be different according to the site situations and we are ready to provide suitable system.

Reversible Conveyor OK

Motor-operated Adjusting Carrier

Applicable to reversible conveyors as well by the combination with the Optional Relay Unit for Reversible Conveyor.

Operating Principle

The motor-operated adjusting carrier detects belt misalignment (meandering) using one or more detectors with touch pulleys mounted near the conveyor belt.

When a detector’s touch pulley senses that the belt has shifted laterally, its internal potentiometer generates a proportional signal according to the misalignment angle.

This signal is sent to the electric actuator, which drives the carrier roller via a motor to rotate in the direction that corrects the misalignment.

The system continues to adjust the carrier until proper alignment is achieved—if one detector stops detecting misalignment before the belt is fully corrected, the actuator continues turning until the opposite detector confirms alignment, ensuring reliable automatic correction.
