Belt Tear Detector

Belt Tear Detector, sometimes called as a Conveyor Belt Rip Detector, is a safety device that continuously monitors the conveyor belt for longitudinal rips or punctures. When abnormal tension or mechanical disturbance is detected (typically through wires or sensor loops installed across the belt), the device instantly stops the conveyor to prevent further damage, material loss and downtime.

Belt tear detector of the touch sensor system operates by mechanically detecting abnormal contact caused by a torn through the conveyor belt.

Touch sensors are installed at a specified position behind the impact roller underneath the transferring chute.

When a belt tear or rip occurs, the entrained material makes contact with the touch sensor.

This contact makes an electrical continuity at the touch sensor and generates an emergency stop signal via the relay unit.

By directly responding to physical contact, the system provides reliable belt tear detection independent of belt speed, electrical properties, or material characteristics, enabling early shutdown and prevention of secondary damage.
