Can Matsushima Measure Tech’s Belt Tear Detector be installed as a replacement for another manufacturer’s Belt Rip Detector using the same mounting position?

A.

Yes, it is generally possible.

Please provide the dimensional drawings of the conveyor mounting area and, if available, those of the existing Belt Rip Detector for our review.

Q.

Where should the sensors of the Belt Tear Detector be mounted?

A.

The sensors should be mounted just behind the impact rollers, beneath the transfer chute area.

The number of sensors required should match the number of impact rollers.

Q.

Do you have a Belt Tear Detector suitable for pipe conveyors?

A.

Yes.

To confirm suitability, please provide the dimensional drawings of the pipe conveyor for our review.

Q.

What is the lowest ambient operating temperature?

The product is intended for use on conveyors or stacker-reclaimers in extremely cold areas.

A.

We have reference installations operating at temperatures down to −30°C.

However, the allowable operating temperature depends on the model specifications as well as the site conditions, so please contact us to confirm suitability for your application.

Q.

How many sensors (of the Belt Tear Detector system) are required for detecting belt rip accidents beneath the transfer chute area?

A.

We recommend that the number of sensors match the number of impact rollers in the area.
