Find answers to frequently asked questions regarding our Belt Cleaners.
Please select the category at the link below:
Q. | Why is the scraping edge of the belt cleaner, which comes into contact near the belt edge, not equipped with hard tips? |
|---|---|
A. | Our belt cleaner is designed so that the chips are cushioned by the elasticity of the urethane rubber, even in the presence of belt misalignment or vibration. This structure inherently minimizes the risk of damaging the belt. Furthermore, since there is relatively little material adhesion near the belt edges, hard tips are intentionally not applied to the scraping section at the belt edge in order to further reduce the risk of belt damage during cleaning. |
Q. | How should the belt cleaner be adjusted? |
|---|---|
A. | The belt cleaner can be adjusted by raising or lowering the tensioning bolts. Both structurally and operationally, the adjustment method is simple and user-friendly. |
Q. | What is the service life (replacement interval) of the belt cleaner tips? |
|---|---|
A. | We recommend replacement once a year. The consumable components of the belt cleaner are the scraping tips, which remove adhered material, and the hard urethane sticks that support the tips. The tips are available in two types: carbide tips and urethane tips. On average, urethane tips have a shorter service life than carbide tips. However, since the elastic force of the hard urethane sticks tends to degrade even earlier, we recommend a one-year replacement interval based on the condition of the hard urethane sticks. |
Q. | What is the cleaning efficiency of the belt cleaner? |
|---|---|
A. | Although no quantitative data on cleaning efficiency is available, field data obtained by a customer in a coal handling application (thermal power plant) indicates that, under the same operating conditions, our belt cleaner reduced carryback (spillage) by more than 50% compared with a competitor’s cleaner. |
