Upgrade Mechanical Level Measurement to Radar Level Transmitters

Radar Level Transmitter solves worries of Sounding Level Transmitter
Introduction
Level measurement is essential for stable plant operation in tanks and silos storing raw materials or products.
Traditional mechanical level transmitters such as sounding type level meters have been widely used in industrial facilities. However, these contact-type instruments often require regular maintenance and may suffer from wire-rope wear, mechanical failure, or measurement instability.
To overcome these challenges, many plants are now upgrading to radar level transmitters. Radar technology enables reliable non-contact level measurement even in harsh environments such as dust, vapor, and high temperature conditions.

01 | Worries about facility damage due to drop of the sensing weight by wire-rope cut |
Contact type level transmitters may get damaged especially at portions where contact with the process in the long-term usage and then may raise the risk of facility damage and foreign matter contamination.

02 | Expensive cost for adjustment and maintenance of the equipment |
Periodical maintenance or replacement of consumable parts are required in case of contact type level transmitters (or the one which has mechanical movable portion).

03 | It may cause malfunction (wrong measurement) |
Ultrasonic level transmitter (or the one which uses air as emitting media) may cause malfunction (wrong measurement) according to conditions (vapor, dusty, etc.) in the silo or tank.
Solution
Radar Level Transmitter can solve those problems:
Worries | Why does Radar Level Transmitter solve? | |
Worries about facility damage due to drop of the sensing weight by wire-rope cut | ➡ | No worry of wire-rope cut or sensing weight drop because it's non-contact measurement principle and there is no mechanical movable portion. |
Expensive cost for adjustment and maintenance of the equipment | ➡ | Required maintenance is cleaning of horn antenna only. |
It may cause malfunction (wrong measurement) | ➡ | Radar is electromagnetic wave and no influence from air conditions (temperature, pressure, etc.) besides it's possible to go through vapor or flying dust because of its permeability. |

Measurement through the tank is possible because of the electromagnetic wave characteristic.
It's useful for corrosive gas conditions.

Parameter setting and wave form observation is possible with the handheld adjustment unit (GRAPHIC COM) other than the adjustment via PC.

Compatible with HART adjustment equipment.

Productivity improvement is achieved because it can reduce down time, troubles or maintenance time due to malfunction (wrong measurement), and stable plant operation is possible.

Unnecessary cost for supervising, parts replacement or unwanted maintenance work is reduced.
